Sailor 1911 L Naginata Emperor Fountain pen - Bespoke Dealer Special

The Sailor craftsmen specialise in writing performance using inherited traditional skills and for the Sailor 1911 Large Specialty Nib Collection they have been working on special nibs. This truly unique 1911 is fitted with a Naginata Emperor Nib. Emperor’ refers to the solid gold rolled tab which is skill fully positioned on the top of the nib. This helps provide a supplementary ink reservoir when writing very quickly or when using very absorbent paper. The tipping allows for a variable line width, a thin line can be written by holding the pen upright. A thicker line, by holding the pen at an angle. No return/exchange on the Bespoke series.

Sailor has made a new design for their nibs. The pens which are produced from January 2022 onwards will have the new-design nib. The difference between the old nib and the new nib:

1. New nib does not have '1911' engraved on it
2. New design of the anchor
3. New design of the "SAILOR" engraving below the anchor
4. The 'H' letter (abbreviation of 'Hard') is removed from the nib size indicator on the left side of the new nib 

Depending on the availability of our stock, you may receive the old Sailor nib design or the new Sailor nib.
